Neolth recommends self-guided content tailored to teens’ needs, including practices like breathwork, moderated blogs, videos and livestreams authored by clinicians and other teens. For teens who require a higher level of care, Neolth has a care escalation system that directs them to free counselors in real-time.

Impact

Neolth has internal and external research initiatives, including their STEMSEL project with the University of Miami. In just five logins, Neolth reduced teen stress (Wheeler et al., 2023). In three weeks, Neolth reduced help-seeking stigma, acting as a stepping stone to clinical care (Warnstadt et. al, 2022).  

Privacy & Safety

Neolth complies with COPPA, FERPA, and HIPAA. Their products are co-designed with teens to balance teen privacy and confidentiality with safety. The majority of teens’ interactions on Neolth are kept confidential, however any concerns identified by their crisis safeguards are reported in real-time based on the school’s care escalation policies.

Data provided to school/district

Aggregate, de-identified data about engagement on Neolth, stress level, and health symptoms of the student body can be shared with the school. If consent is given by the student and parent, an individual student’s health and engagement information can be shared with school health professionals via their HIPAA-compliant analytics dashboard.
